2 weeks... what was I thinking?

ok.. ok.. I know its been awhile since I have posted... something like 2 weeks or so, wow... I am in slacking mode again I guess.
So I have been reaching into every part of my insanely uncreative mind (might be slightly exaggerated) trying to come up with as many painting ideas as possible... I probably just try to think of to many at one time... they all start to run together and then before I can get to my sketch pad... I start to loose clarification as to which idea was what... they are now all in one painting and are a crazy mess. Ugh!!!
So I slowed down a bit... just kind of taking my time and just doing a painting here and there to put up in my shop at Etsy. I have been taking on some other requested pieces... I had 2 through my shop (one was a complete success and she should be receiving it in a day or two.. the other, just continue her convo's with me... bummer!) and 2 for family members.... OH YEAH and the best of all... I got asked to do a donated piece for a silent auction for a benefit... that was so great (been working on it today... currently waiting for my background to dry so I can start in on the focals.)
So all in all its been fairly productive with those requests and I added ACEO cards to my shop... I forgot how small equals more challenging... but alot more intesity and fun. hehehe
Of course there is all the promoting that I do... and obviously blogging is not my strong spot (trying to improve tho!) I think some days that promoting is exhausting... and it seems the rest of the world kind of gets away from you when your trying to promote your tail off where ever you can and more... luckily both of my kids have been preoccupied with boyfriends so they don't miss me nearly as much as I miss them sometimes... but it also gets me away from the typical teenage sister drama. hehehe
So anywho... well I guess I should get back to... uhhhh... alot of things until I can get back to painting the rest of the silent auction piece... have 2 days left to finish it so I need to get really busy!

So swear I am going to commit to my blog!

Oh wow... have I seriously slacked on my blogging for the last couple of weeks or so.
I think it must be all of this crazy cold weather we are getting here... I think this is the most snow i have seen on the ground in years!
So I have been busy running my kids all over creation... since they are at that age now that they have to run run run but can't yet drive drive drive... so it seems I spend more time getting in and out of my car than I do anything else...

Well off to run...

Painting is my escape... Its my way of distancing myself or just breaking free of everyday life for just those few moments... no fighting kids, no bills... just me and a canvas...

So been slacking....

Guess the holidays slowed me down a little... but I am back in it. I went to the store today... picked up some more canvas and paints... and am ready to sit down and start back at it. I been hitting the chat rooms a little more over the last few days and checking into some more of the forums on Etsy... trying to get my name out there a bit... and bring people to my shop... its definitely a tough thing to do... and I have spent some days very discouraged. I get so many compliments on my paintings and I love my work... just feeling a bit down lately that I am just not getting the sales. Hopefully 2009 will bring better luck for me and many others soon. Well I am off to the studio to paint... paint... and paint some more...

Can't seem to get enough done

It never fails that there is never enough time in the day to do all the things I need or want to do... of course there is those everyday chores... then my most serene moments are when I can sit with my paints and just start something and see where it takes me. But of course there are all the interruptions that seem basically impossible to escape. I always feel that I have slept in way to long and could have used that extra couple of hours toward something more productive... but I guess I need sleep to be productive. Well I am going to add some new pictures of some paintings that I created last night before I finally started to lose all my energy. I keep telling myself that I know I truly appreciate what I can do and know that someday others will be able to enjoy them... I think I give and sell to family members more than half of my pieces... and they are always so boastful about them... they definitely made some great Christmas presents this year...

Well tata for now.... maybe I can spend more time blogging this week since the kids and everyone are on Christmas break so I will have far less running to do!

Creating and envisioning

Well Christmas has come and gone and for the last couple of months or so I have been very busy just the same as millions of other people in the world. I have decided recently to get back to my paints, canvases and pencils. I have been hard at work painting all the wonders that are in my heart and head. I have been trying to put down things that are a bit unique or different without being over the top... hopefully I am succeeding at that. I have been rather happy with the majority of my paintings and so far I think that they are definitely pieces that will appeal to others. I would love it if I can get back into it full time... when I am not busy with my kids or my family. I find myself laying in bed exhausted and still wanting to get up and head to my studio to paint... so many wonderful ideas and visions float around and I am so afraid that I will not remember them if I wait... so I find myself with 4 and 5 paintings going on all at once plus 10 or 12 pieces going in my sketch pad. Well as I have said before... I am itching to paint so I guess I had better get to it.... so that I can list them as soon as possible with the ones that are already done... I have found that everyone there is so talented and gifted and so enjoyable to talk too... can't wait to put some new paintings up..
